Activities at Bishopstrow College

The Activities Programme offers students the chance to explore and discover hidden interests, skills and abilities. It presents students with the opportunity to acquire new talents and build self-confidence outside of the classroom. Bishopstrow aims to provide a range of activities to allow students to excel and gain social competence. We hope that by introducing the students to new and unaccustomed activities that they will find life-long interests in which they can prosper.

Junior activities take place between 5-6pm four days a week. The activities can range from model making, arts and crafts to small drama productions. Juniors also take part in activities at the weekend such as raft building, country walks and cooking. We believe that offering this extensive range of activities will contribute to the students overall social development.

Senior and junior students are also offered activities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Activities such as race nights, survival simulation games and murder mysteries are only a handful of team building games we offer to ensure that our students develop the confidence to integrate with others when they move on from Bishopstrow.

Not only do we offer on-site activities but every Sunday we offer a fully supervised weekend trip which allows our students to see places of cultural significance such as Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Winchester Cathedral. We also encourage character building activities such as challenging the students to reach the summit of a mountain, coasteering and sailing.

Bishopstrow College also has a House team system where students are put into mixed nationality teams to compete for the House Trophy in things such as:

  • House Spelling Bee
  • House Drama
  • House Debate
  • House Singing
  • House Photography
  • House Sports Competitions
